The Tony Hawk’s series of games have remained as popular as ever and although there have been changes to accommodate new gaming systems; the ps2 version still remains one of the best.  Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland is the sequel to Underground 2 and is set in Los Angeles and its various neighborhoods.  Players can choose from various characters in the game and these can range from professional skaters and BMXers.  There are also secret characters contained within the game.  The plot of the story is set by at first meeting a girl by the name of Mindy who introduces the character to her friends.  The player is then able to show of the necessary skating skills in order to gain respect.  The player is then able to build up a skating area through various tasks and thus make a great place to skate.  At the end of the story, the player is able to meet Tony Hawk and other professional skaters in order to get their opinions on the transformed wasteland.
